Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran

In 2000, the government has established a Skills Development Fund (TPK) to provide financial assistance in the form of loans to skills trainees especially school leavers. The fund is managed by the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK). The function of PTPK is to provide skills training loan to individuals such as school leavers, graduates and others who are interested in pursuing Malaysian Skills Certification (SKM), Malaysian Skills Diploma (DKM) and Malaysian Advanced Skills Diploma (DLKM) at Public or Private Skills Training Providers accredited by DSD.

 

1.    SKILLS TRAINING LOAN FOR SCHOOL LEAVERS

Objective
To produce more highly trained individual to support the government’s Five Regional Economic Corridor projects and the various sectors of National Key Economic Areas (NKEA).

 

Loan

  1. RM4, 500.00 and RM24, 000.00 depending on programme and level which includes.
    • Study fees
    • Allowance of RM300.00 per month
  2. Administrative fee of 3% per annum will be charged on reduced balance.

 

Skills Education Study Loan Qualification Criteria

  1. Citizen of Malaysia
  2. No financial assistance from any  agencies during training period
  3. Age between 15-45 years
  4. Household income less than RM5000.00
  5. Undergo full time training on related programme approved by PTPK

 

Qualifying for the Skills Education Study Loan

  1. If Parents
    • No age limit
    • Pay slip not required
  2. Non Parents
    • Below 50 years old
    • Min. RM700 salary with pay slip
  3. A guarantor is now allowed to guarantee more than TWO (2) trainees.

 

Study Loan Application Process
PTPK is open to process new loan applications throughout the year. The students need to fill out an online Loan Application Form with the help from Training Provider.

 

2. SKILLS DEVELOPMENT LOAN FOR WORKING ADULTS

 Objective
To develop or enhance workers skills, in order for them to obtain higher income to match with present and future living standards.

Applicants Criteria

  1.  Open for Malaysian
  2. Age less than 45 years old on application date
  3. The applicant is currently studying at the Training Provider (PL) undergoing either one of the following programmes :
  4. Monthly income less than RM3000.00
  5. Not a declared bankrupt
  6. For currently employed applicant, they must have worked for at least one year on the current job and must submit a letter of consent from the employer to pursue skills training
  7. For applicants who have been retrenched, they shall submit one copy of retrenchment letter of former employer.
  8. Applicant shall not be of school or university students who are currently pursuing studies in any educational institution.

 

3. SPECIAL FUND FOR FEDERATION OF MALAYSIA SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (FMSDC)

  1. Workforce Technical Transformation Program (WTTP)
    1. Malaysian Citizen
    2.  School Leavers
    3. Age between 15-35 years old
    4. Unable to obtain any financial assistance from any agencies during training period
    5. Applicants household income does not exceed RM3000.00 per month
  2. Industrial Scheme Enhancement Program (INSEP)
    1.  Obtain Diploma / Bachelor Degrees
    2.  Malaysian Citizen
    3. Age not exceeding 35 years old
    4. Does not obtain any financial assistance from any agencies during training period

Loan Repayment
Study loans will need to be paid back with interest. There are several loan repayment methods in place for the convenience of the student.

For cash repayment, student could make payment to either PTPK directly or at any BSN Bank or Post Offices nationwide.

Alternatively students could make a bankers  cheque / Bank Draft / Money Order and address the payment to “Ketua Eksekutif Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran” . To reduce the hassle, you could also instruct your bank or employer to make periodic monthly deductions.
